About the Role
The Dean is a key leadership role responsible for the academic and administrative oversight of a large academic unit within the College of Health and Community Well-Being. The successful candidate will be tasked with fostering a supportive and inclusive environment for students, faculty, and staff. This includes leading strategic planning initiatives, promoting academic excellence, and ensuring the quality of educational programs. The Dean will also be involved in faculty and staff development, budget management, and fostering community partnerships. Additionally, the role involves representing the college both internally and externally, engaging in fundraising and advancement efforts, and contributing to the overall mission of the college. Candidates for the Dean position should possess a terminal degree in a relevant field, a distinguished record of scholarly achievement, and a strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Experience in academic leadership, including personnel management and program development, is essential. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required, as is the ability to engage with a wide range of stakeholders. A deep understanding of the academic, social, and professional needs of the college's diverse student body is also critical.
