For more information about benefits at our schools please Click Here Hours 10-15 hours to start Location Westlake Village Description Computer Programming Teacher - Fusion Academy Westlake Village In-Person Starting in early August Part-Time (~10-15 hours to start) Starting Rate: $28.50 Position Summary: Our campus has an opening for a passionate and experienced Computer Programming Teacher who can teach a wide range of Technology courses such as Coding, Computer Science, Game Design, Robotics, and Web development. We will also be strongly considering candidates who are able teach additional subject matters as well (e.g. Middle School English, Pre-Algebra, Social Studies, Foreign Language). Candidates who feel comfortable teaching a broader range of subject matters will have opportunities for more teaching hours. This position provides a student centered, supportive classroom that promotes resourcefulness, critical thinking, self awareness, and inclusion while addressing the individual academic and emotional needs of each student through Fusion's differentiated approach. This role would likely begin in early 2024, and would start with about 10-15 hours a week, but could grow beyond that depending upon enrollment and teacher versatility. Show evidence of adapting and differentiated instruction for all students and a classroom forum for holistic growth. Maintain complete and accurate records. Develop and maintain genuine, positive and consistent communication with parents. Contribute to and benefit from the campus community. Practice professionalism through ongoing professional development, reflection and continuous improvement. In addition to subject matter tutoring and teaching, this position includes significant student mentoring. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Required: Solid subject matter knowledge in a majority of these areas: C++ programming, Java, and HTML at grade levels 6-12. Experience with students with learning differences and ADHD is a plus as well as mentoring experience. The ideal candidate is outgoing, well organized, competent in basic computer skills, and is an individual who is eager to work in a highly dynamic, energetic school setting. Candidate must be prepared to teach and tutor material at a high school level immediately.
