Position title: Amplify Alumni Success Manager

Overview:

Position description:

This Alumni Success Manager is a direct service champion responsible for implementing a dynamic program experience and building transformative relationships with young adults through Amplify Chicago at The Academy Group. The Alumni Success Manager is a key position in accelerating and meeting Amplify’s growth and impact goals. The Alumni Success Manager partners directly with and reports to the Senior Director of Programs, Amplify Chicago.

In this intensive direct service role, the primary responsibility is designing and implementing an Amplify success coaching (case management) model providing holistic support to Amplify Alumni as they transition from the 3 month program to the Amplify Alumni Network. All Amplify Alumni will have a personalized Amplify Action Plan, grounded in the Amplify Wealth-Building Index, for achieving their personal and professional goals. Additional responsibilities include program marketing, employer engagement, and crisis management to Amplify alumni across cohorts on their wealth-building journeys.

The Alumni Success Manager must have a track record of hustle and risk-taking. This position is an onsite culture and expectations keeper who makes sure the program is delivered relationally and with excellence.

It is essential that the Alumni Success Manager have an entrepreneurial mindset as this position may include supporting new programmatic and entrepreneurial efforts. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:

  • Experience and knowledge of resilient communities’ strengths, challenges and opportunities relating to the mission of The Academy Group and the objectives of Amplify Chicago.
  • Demonstrated success designing and implementing trauma-informed success coaching (case management) models grounded in compassion, accountability and excellence.
  • Demonstrated success developing caring, trusting, intentional, and reliable relationships with young adults ages 21 to 30 and their families.
  • Demonstrated success providing personalized care, support, and challenge participants as they advance through the program model.
  • Demonstrated success building case management tracking systems, logging data and reporting on trends.
  • Demonstrated success building and maintaining a network of relationships with community-based resources and Community Based Organizations for talent referrals and other supports in reaching their goals.
  • Demonstrated experience engaging young people and their families on-the-ground in their communities
  • Strong interpersonal and human relations skills with the ability to be persuasive and compassionate.
  • Strong organizational, strategic planning, and project management skills.
  • Ability to manage autonomy and work under dynamic, evolving conditions; ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong analysis and written skills; ability to operate a personal computer and various software systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Transition talent into the Amplify Alumni Network:

  • Provide success coaching (case management) to a caseload of Alumni who need continued and/or additional social, emotional, financial and employment support while transitioning into active status in the Amplify Alumni Network.
  • Assist in managing the talent transition process from the 3-month core program to the opportunities available in the Amplify Alumni Network.
  • Partner directly with Amplify program staff to ensure a personalized and relational transition for each talent based on their goals, including transitional assessments of stability and individual Amplify Action Plans.

Alumni program implementation:

  • Partner with and support a caseload of Alumni in setting and pursuing their wealth-building goals (e.g. career pathway employment, saving and investing, asset building and physical and mental health).
  • Provide individualized tiers of intensive success coaching support to Alumni who have completed the Amplify core program but continue to face challenges in transitioning into their chosen career pathways and/or reaching other personal and professional goals.
  • Provide ongoing assessments, create Amplify Action Plans (aligned with the Amplify Wealth-Building Index) and track and coach talent toward action plan goals.
  • Build a portfolio of holistic external resources and provide and manage direct referrals to organizations, resources and supports.
  • Interface with employers and other external stakeholders to ensure talent success and employer/partner satisfaction.
  • Provide crisis/emergency management support to talent/families as needed.
  • Assist in planning and facilitating Academy Group-wide alumni network engagement sessions including both social (e.g. events, reunions) and individual goal-specific (e.g. home ownership, networking) opportunities.
  • Partner with other Amplify staff and external consultants (e.g. therapists) as needed to provide a coordinated and streamlined continuum of care.
  • Assist in the implementation of the Amplify Alumni Network with past and current Alumni members.
  • Assist in tracking and reporting alumni performance data (e.g. employment, wealth-building index).
  • Other cross-program duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is required
  • Minimum of 5 years experience with life (success) coaching, employment counseling and case-management
  • Proven success with program development, ideally with young people who have been impacted by the criminal justice system
  • Experience in trauma informed practices, restorative justice and/or cognitive behavioral theory a plus
  • Life and/or work experience in the most resilient communities in Chicago required
